So it’s been awhile since I’ve updated, and with good reason: I got a job! I’m currently working part time at my old internship as a sales/marketing assistant. And, I’ve got to be honest – I’m LOVING it! I’m learning a lot and just enjoying working in my field. Since it’s a small company, I get to do a lot of things: I update the website, write orders, talk to customers, research, write press releases, assist with trade show preparation, talk to vendors, etc. Plus, my coworkers are legitimately nice, not fake-nice like some of my coworkers at my old job.
Anyway, while I’m not currently actively looking for a job, I am still open to per diem work on the side, ideally with smaller companies or individuals… anything that will help me hone my craft and build my portfolio. If you’re interested, you can send me an e-mail here.

I KNOW that people are reading through this portfolio, and that’s fantastic. While I have no idea who they are, I imagine that most are prospective employers who have recieved my resume. So, keep reading – this post is for you.
I work hard, learn quickly and, based on the little experience I have, enjoy what I do. All I need is an opportunity; an employer to take a chance and say, “you know what? Maybe she doesn’t know everything, but we can teach her and she can learn as she goes. Let’s hire her!” The bonus is that salary-wise, I don’t require much. I need some flexibility because of school, but I am more than willing to come in early or stay late to make up for leaving early a couple days a week. On the other hand, I don’t have much (any, really) experience, but I think my ability and willingness to learn makes up for whatever knowledge and/or experience that I don’t have.
Are YOU willing to take that chance?

I am looking to work with entrepreneurs and small business owners who understand that little experience doesn’t mean “no ideas.” While small business owners are often flying by the seat of their pants, I like the idea of being able to grow and learn collectively. I can help you identify your niche and determine what sets you apart from your competitors. I am a graduate of Worcester State College in Worcester, MA. I have a BA in Communications with a concentration in marketing and public relations. After spending the Fall 2008 semester as a marketing intern, I’m ready to start a career doing something I love!
This portfolio is designed to be a stand-alone version of my more traditional, hard-copy portfolio. Unlike my traditional portfolio, however, this version contains the complete versions of my writing samples, so you’re getting a much better look at what I do.
